Chikoto Taiko and Kaiju Daiko team up to present an evening of
traditional and contemporary music combining Japanese drums (taiko)
and Japanese Harp (Koto).
Kaiju Daiko endeavors to share a dynamic form of drumming and to break
down racial stereotypes. Members of Kaiju Daiko have studied Japanese
kumi-daiko in Japan and the United States with many masters. Kaiju
Daiko offers performances and workshops for people of all ages.

ChiKoto Taiko is composed of North American Taiko Artists, John Yost,
Kim DeVore and Koto Artist, Jeff Wichmann. The group performs
traditional and contemporary Japanese pieces as well as original
works. John and Kim have studied in the States as well as in Japan
with multiple masters of Japanese taiko drums. Jeff Wichmann moved to
Tokyo to study traditional and contemporary Japanese music under koto
master Kazue Sawai and received a koto license from the Sawai Koto
Academy. Together they strive to honor the past and push the
boundaries of the Taiko and Koto genre.
