Experience and contribute to new multi-disciplinary art that combines music, dance and visual art. From concept development to choreography and music composition, the unique Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre will share what went into a new piece, and the company's dancers and musicians will perform the work in progress. Then, you are invited inside this creative process through Q & A and on-the-spot improvisation by the company. This interactive event is part of the company's innovative Inside/Out program, where the company gets Out into the community and invites audiences Inside their creative process and their art work.
Get an early look at a brand new work by Taylor Mitchell, first-ever CRDT Choreography Fellow, and veteran CRDT composer Dan Hesler. Their piece, Here Comes Treble, satirizes the dynamics of a conductor leading a group of independent artists - an environment alternately chaotic and harmonious. Experience this new work in progress performed by our Dance & Music Ensembles, chat with Dan and Taylor about how and why they've created this piece and what they plan to do next, AND shape the work before it premieres at CRDT's 2017 Fall Concert Series (October 5-7 at Links Hall).
"For readers interested in small-scale dance with immense talent, the ability to seamlessly meld live music with movement, and revivals of highly acclaimed performance pieces, Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre will provide an enjoyable night. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED" - Picture This Post
