Ignite your movement work with this open level technique class set to your favorite Emo, Metal, and Punk tunes. Punk Contemporary combines codified modern and contemporary floorwork with elements of punk, metal, and emo culture. Students will explore the use of momentum, off-center movement, and practice ‘controlled chaos’ as they’re guided through a fast-paced warm-up and locomotor floor work set to tunes that fuel the teenage dirtbag in all of us. Students will also learn excerpts from "Missile Kids," a work in development by Luke Greeff & Such Creatures. Variations are given for all skills to encourage creative autonomy and physical diversity. Great for all levels of dancers & movers looking for both dance technique and space to express themselves creatively. Thick eyeliner not required, but encouraged.
