You will participate in the intimate experience of singing and performing classic jazz standards in a variety of duo settings. Singers will have the opportunity to perform in a duo setting with piano, upright bass and with another vocalist. Singers will practice the art of communication with an instrumentalist, basic arranging skills, stylistic approaches, technical development and learn to transpose. An informal class performance will take place on the last day of class. Singers will have the opportunity to work on improvising and phrasing, lyrical delivery and rhythmic feel and groove.
