The school is excited Uday Joshi has joined us as our first-ever Engagement Director! In this position, Uday will pursue exciting opportunities for Old Town teaching artists and students around Chicago, enhancing our partnerships with organizations in neighborhoods across the city, along with overseeing the development of an urban music and hip-hop curriculum. He will also create an “Innovation Council” made up of Old Town School staff, fostering creativity and helping to implement innovative ideas in the School.
Uday’s breadth of experience along with his enthusiasm and thoughtfulness make him the perfect choice for this position. Uday has previously worked at small arts organizations across the country as well as at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. He also served as principal of an arts charter school in Oakland, California. He holds a Master’s degree in Arts Education from Harvard University. Old Town School looks forward to sharing exciting developments in this area over the next couple of months.
