Celebrate and discover the rich cultural heritage of music by LGBTQ+ artists. Sharpen your playing and ensemble singing skills while playing music from a multi-genre selection of queer/trans artists past and present: Bessie Smith, Courtney Barnett, Tracy Chapman, Husker Du, Against Me!, The Indigo Girls, Queen, Chavela Vargas, Perfume Genius, and more. This class is open to students of all genders and orientations.
This class is open to all acoustic instruments and vocalists, as well as electric guitar and bass (electric players will need to bring a small practice amp). Class concludes with an end-of-session performance.
Pre-requisites: Proficiency with open chords and transitions, ability to keep a steady strumming rhythm at medium tempos. Guitar 2 rep or similar experience suggested.
