In this class you will begin learning how to play finger style guitar in the manner used by many legendary folk musicians including Elizabeth Cotten, Mississippi John Hurt, Peter, Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan, and even John Lennon.
This approach to guitar playing can be applied to traditional, country, blues, jazz, and pop songs. Four standard picking patterns will be explored, as well as a number of chord shape variations. Before taking this class you should know how to transition between basic open chords smoothly without losing the beat in the keys of A, D, E, and G.
