Learning basic jazz piano will help you to gain the piano skills necessary to become a more well-rounded and competent jazz singer or instrumentalist. Material covered in this course will include the following:
•Learn to read and play the chord changes to tunes from a fake book or lead sheet.
•Accompany you or another vocalist or instrumentalist on any type of tune – swing, ballad, Latin.
•Use the piano as a tool to practice improvisation.
•Analyze the chord changes to a song and understand the function of each chord within the progression.
