It then proceeded to influence all popular US music as we know it. In honor of its roots, this class will connect the banjo with music from Jamaica and the US. Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Big Bill Broonzy, Missississippi John Hurt are all players who pushed the backbeat over the downbeat in their music.
