Join critically acclaimed songwriter Rhett Miller of Old 97’s for a deep dive into the science and secrets of songwriting. He will spend some time discussing the lessons he’s learned in his three-plus decades of songwriting. Rhett will show the evolution of songs from his own catalog, breaking them down into their component parts in order to provide object lessons. He will then use exercises, prompts, and questions to work together with workshop attendees to write a brand-new song as a hands-on demonstration of the process. Before wrapping up, Rhett will welcome questions and interaction with the students.
