Learning from Bluegrass legends is a great way of improving your style and playing. Kenny Baker is one of the best bluegrass fiddlers of all time, known for his "long-bow" style, smoothness and clarity as well as his 25-year tenure with Bill Monroe - more than any other member of The Blue Grass Boys. In this workshop we will look at the playing of Kenny Baker and break down parts of his tunes to learn from them.
In this workshop we will discuss the greatness of Kenny Baker’s playing and his history as a fiddle player, learn one of Baker’s favorite fiddle tunes, pick several licks from one of Baker’s tunes to discuss and memorize.
Kyle Patrick O’Brien is a true life-long musician. Since his birth in 1990 Kyle has been a devotee of melody and lover of tunes. Growing up in a family band that recorded several albums and toured the country professionally, Kyle has developed a keen sense for timing and harmony and has kept working as his craft ever since - touring & recording with bands such as the Earl Brothers, the Easy Leaves and the Henhouse Prowlers.
