Come hone your songwriting skills at a day-long online clinic with one of contemporary music’s most respected artists. Dar will share insights into her unique process.
9:00 - 10:00 AM: Greeting, discussion, and a breakdown of one of Dar’s songs
10:00 -11:30 AM: Time spent writing on your own
11: 30 AM - 12:00 PM: Discussion of your writings
12:00 - 1:00 PM: Break
1:00 - 3:00 PM: Take a look at each other’s songs: not the ones written in this seminar, necessarily, but hopefully a song where “the paint’s not dry” or you need input in order to take the next step
3:00 - 3:15 PM: Break
3:15-4:15 PM: More time to discuss each other’s songs, or, if we’ve wrapped up, another song breakdown from Dar
4:15 - 4:30 PM: Some time to reflect and discuss before we go back out in the world
The seminar will be held in the Zoom format. Students are encouraged to attend with a work in progress.
