This workshop will explore the definition of old time fiddle as we learn and listen to tunes from different regional styles from Appalachia to the Mid West to Texas. We will work on bowing technique, how to create variations, and how to turn a basic, skeletal melody into a driving old-time fiddle tune.
Allison de Groot and Tatiana Hargreaves, two women on the forefront of American traditional music, join forces in this powerful new duo.Their reverence for the people and music that has come before them provides a platform on which they build their own musical vocabulary.
