Piano, Wiggleworms Program, Education Outreach
Sam Cantor is a Wiggleworms and Kids Group Piano instructor at the Old Town School, and teaches guitar, ukulele, choir and more in Chicago-area schools through the Old Town School's Outreach program. He also spent the summer of 2016 as an Arts Mentor at the Old Town School's Teen Arts Camp. Prior to his arrival to Chicago and the Old Town School in early 2016, Sam worked as a music educator in the Boston area, including at the Boston Workmen’s Circle Shule, a secular Jewish cultural Sunday school program with a strong focus on social justice. Sam believes that through rich and joyful musical experiences, young people gain a set of meaningful artistic and social-emotional skills that they can call upon and explore throughout their lives. In addition to his teaching work, Sam has participated in a wide variety of ensembles and performed in concert halls, rock clubs and house venues throughout the country. He is currently active in several bands based in Chicago including his own songwriting project, Minor Moon.
