Kids’ Group Piano
In September 2018, Yen-Chen Wu joined Ensemble Connect/Ensemble ACJW at Carnegie Hall, performing across the United States and collaborating with leading international institutions and ensembles.
She began playing piano at the age of four and started bassoon at nine in Taiwan and later earned a full scholarship to the Yale School of Music for her master’s degree, followed by a fully funded doctoral program at Stony Brook University, where she also served as a teaching assistant and recording engineer.
Yen-Chen’s musical footprint can be found at several renowned music festivals, including the Yellow Barn Music Festival, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. Her eagerness to step outside her comfort zone has also led her to win prizes in international competitions around the world.
While performing is a major part of her life, teaching deserves just as much spotlight.
Yen-Chen believes that curiosity leads the way. Maybe that’s the fun of it—once you start asking “what if,” the world suddenly feels a little bigger, a little brighter, and full of ideas waiting to be explored. She especially enjoys making progress with young musicians, exploring ideas, and sparking new possibilities together.
