Since Fall of 2001, Paul Giallorenzo has been the co-teacher/accompianist for Cabaret (originally called Torch Songs) with Barbara Silverman.  Paul enjoys learning early jazz standards and laying it down for his enthusiastic vocal students. Originally from NYC, Paul moved to Evanston in 1995 (to attend Northwestern University) and has been living in Chicago since graduating in 1999.

Paul plays piano and electronics with a variety of Chicago and international musicians exploring jazz, improvisation, and electronic music, performing regularly at the Hungry Brain, Elastic, the Hideout, Myopic Bookstore, Bar Deville, the Burlington, Constellation, and the Empty Bottle.

His current groups and collaborators include GitGO (w/ Mars Williams, Jeb Bishop, Anton Hatwich, Quin Kirchner), Hearts and Minds (w/ Jason Stein, Frank Rosaly), Breakway (w/ Brian Labycz, Marc Riordan), PG3 (w/ Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and Tim Daisy) and ongoing projects with Argentine-born reedist/composer Guillermo Gregorio and Swiss contrabass saxophonist/composer Thomas Mejer.

Paul also is a co-founder and director of Elastic Arts, a non-profit organization based out of the Logan Square/Avondale performing arts venue Elastic.   As a programmer and performer, he collaborates with many local, national, and international artists and musicians to produce vital performances of underexposed and new music.
