Teachers at the Old Town School

Jordan Wankoff

Fiddle, Banjo

Appalachian and Midwestern Tunes

Jordan has been teaching at the Old Town School since 1992. In his spare time he performs often at Monday night square dances with the Chicago Barn Dance Company. Jordan believes every student can succeed according to their potential and their willingness to practice. "I don't believe in the word ‘can't.’" I believe everyone has the potential to play music.” Jordan will teach the kind of fiddling and banjo playing heard at square dances, kitchens, and backyards.
