Teachers at the Old Town School

Heather Riordan

Heather (she/her) has been playing accordion for 20 years, and got her start at The Old Town School of Folk Music! She believes anyone and everyone can and should play accordion. Her teaching methodology focuses on bellowing, musicality, and the ever-present challenge of trying to play both hands at the same time.

Heather performs solo at various restaurants, markets, and private parties. She is also part of The Crooked Mouth band. She has played accordion for various theatrical productions, including shows by The Neo-Futurists, Theater Oobleck, Curious Theatre Branch, The Shakespeare Project, and Anatomy Collective.
In her non-music life, Heather is also an actor, writer, Registered Dietitian, personal trainer, fitness instructor, and health coach.
