Harmonica Lesson
Learn how to make that harmonica sing! An Old Town School teaching artist will take everyone through the basics of blowing a clear note and a simple melody.
*This option does require purchasing instruments but then, all your attendees will have a keepsake:)
Drum Circle/Rhythm Experience
Gather round the rhythms and bring your group together through the magic of the beat. Artists can share details about the drums used and the histories of the rhythms as desired.
Team Jug Band
Make music the good ol' fashioned way...with washboards and simple percussion, kazoos and more. Explore jug band music with our skilled facilitator who will lead your group through the collaborative and creative experience of becoming a jug band!
Community Sing
Singing improves well-being, releasing endorphins and oxytocin, which reduces stress, depression, and feelings of loneliness. Our teaching artist will guide your group through a singalong based in breathing and technique but accessible to all. Specific themes or songs can be accommodated.
Live Band Karaoke
Our crack crew of skilled Chicago area performers/Old Town School teaching artists will provide the energy to make your team shine! Even the most reserved may not be able to resist the chance to take the stage with this backing band who are there to support and enhance everyone who takes the plunge and gets on stage. Cheer each other on, get in the groove and have a lot of fun while doing it.
Dance Lesson
Make movement the motivator and bring your team together through a vibrant and joyous dance lesson for all. Specific style can be customized as desire and availability allow but some options to consider include West African, Social Line Dance, Latin Dance, Square Dance and more!
