One of the most boldly original and intoxicating bands in American roots music today, The Claudettes mix blues and R&B with punk-rock spirit and film-noir moods to create their seductive sound. As acclaimed as their records are, though, this great Chicago band are best known for their captivating concerts. Texas-born Rachel Williams stuns like a glam-rock rebirth of Annie Lennox, dazzling with her soulful vocals, six-foot frame, mohawk hair style and sparkling costumes. Band founder and songwriter Johnny Iguana, one of the world's top blues pianists, teams with the exceptional rhythm section of Zach Verdoorn (bass, guitar, vocals) and Michael Caskey (drums). A Delmark Records recording artist, Iguana has an impressive pedigree, having toured with legends like Junior Wells and Otis Rush, played on many Grammy-nominated albums and recorded with Buddy Guy, Mick Jagger, Johnny Winter, Derek Trucks and many other stars. He also composes the score for the hit Emmy-winning TV series “The Bear".

“A revelatory blend of jazz and blues, stirred with punk brio. There are also dashes of classical and world music, and enough stops, starts and hairpin turns to suggest the giddiness of Raymond Scott's cartoon music…How do they do it?”
- Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune
