The Lyric Opera of Chicago brings to stage the true story of an Austrian American woman's remarkable physical strength and her activism for women's rights. The operatic production is based on the life of circus strongwoman Katie Sandwina and her involvement in the early woman's suffrage movement. Composed by Faye Chiao with a libretto by Anton Dudley, the production features an all-female cast that aims to inspire students and families about the importance of equality.
