Sons of the Never Wrong start their anniversary show off right; with friends, a new album, and maybe even one or two new jokes! This iconic Chicago folk trio has been pushing the envelope so long, they've created their own genre. Sons and their witty, unique music have toured nationally for 35 years, but happily call Chicago's beloved Old Town School of Folk Music their home.
Bruce Roper, Deborah Lader, and Sue Demel make a sound that is wildly original, their energy is contagious and their banter is hilarious. The new album continues their deep musical conversation, reinventing the world of folk. This collection employs Roper's layered sound and quirky mixing. Hear Sons meld experimentation with meaningful, yet fanciful work. They surprised even themselves as they recorded this variety of sweet and catchy tunes.
So many years, so many songs, so many harmonies, so much to celebrate with Sons of the Never Wrong. Tap your foot and put your thinking cap on for the imaginative “Feather and the Starry Crown”. Don't miss this very special show with special guests; John Abbey on bass, John Erickson on piano, and Jess Baldissero on fiddle…and maybe a surprise or two.
