Ode blends Balkan-influenced melodies, noir-tinged rock, and improvisational jazz energy into a sound that feels both global and modern. Their live shows move from haunting vocal lines to explosive rhythmic sections, pulling listeners into a world shaped by migration, memory, and Chicago grit. Each performance is a deep dive into mood, storytelling, and raw musicianship. Expect an atmospheric, dynamic set that moves between shadow and light.

Brothers Robert and Davor Palos named their Chicago-based band Ode as a way to honor and carry forward their Bosnian roots. In Bosnian, "ode" means "to leave” - a reminder of a life begun in Bosnia and rebuilt in Chicago. Their music reflects that duality, blending the depth and history of Balkan culture with the grit and atmosphere of their American home. With drummer Daniel Crane, bassist Jonathan Kolar, and rhythm guitarist Nikola Dokic shaping the foundation, Ode channels stories of love, loss, resilience, and reinvention into a sound that feels both global and unmistakably modern.
