Exclusive screening of Garland Jeffreys: The King of In Between with filmmakers and special guests, Jon Langford & Nicholas Tremulis.
Garland Jeffreys occupies a unique space in American music history, blending rock, reggae, R&B, and soul into a sound that defied easy categorization. Emerging from New York City in the late 1960s and early 1970s - a time of immense cultural and political upheaval - Jeffreys crafted music that spoke to issues of race, identity, and social justice with an urgency that remains relevant today. Garland Jeffreys: The King of In Between, a new documentary film with appearances by Laurie Anderson, Alejandro Escovedo, Vernon Reid, Harvey Keitel, Graham Parker, and Bruce Springsteen, comes to Old Town School for a tribute worthy of the man Springsteen called "one of the American greats."
Special acoustic tribute by Nicholas Tremulis
