Sunnyside Up demonstrates the unique origins of bluegrass – a music that was developed by and for homesick southerners who migrated north in the early 20th century to find work. The show explores musical elements that are present in a bluegrass band: the particular rhythmic properties of each instrument, vocal harmonies, and the use of blues scales and melody. Learn about this American art form with a field trip you can only find at Old Town School!
