Akello is a contemporary world music performer and singer-songwriter from Uganda who sings in popular East African languages like Swahili, Luganda, English, and Acholi. She has performed in Europe, Africa and the USA. Akello started singing at a young age in church then later sang back up for famous Uganda world music and jazz musicians like Kinobe, Lillian Mbabazi, Suzan Kerunen, Kawesa Richard, Tshila and Micheal Ouma.
