Sunnyside Up demonstrates the unique origins of Bluegrass music, created in the early 20th century for homesick southerners who had migrated north to find work. The show explores musical elements that are present in a bluegrass band: the particular rhythmic properties of each instrument, vocal harmonies, and the use of blues scales and melody. Learn about this American art form with a field trip you can only find at Old Town School!
