The Global Dance Party series offers an exciting opportunity to experiment with dance styles from around the globe. Each evening will feature a dance class followed by two hours of music from live bands or DJs in our Myron R. Szold Music & Dance Hall.
One of Chicago's jewels, Bossa Tres started as a trio during the hot summer of 2005, and immediately established its residence at Barra Ñ, one of the North Side's coziest places. With the most popular Brazilian music, Bossa Tres transformed this Argentinian venue into its Brazilian home, always bringing the audience to their feet with the rhythms of Samba, Pagode, Partido-alto, Forro, Baião, Funk and, as a tradition, closing the night at the energetic rhythm of Carnaval, the batucada. The popularity of the group opened doors for their participation in many events, such as the Pan American Games in Toronto-Canada in August 2015 and multiple Summer festival performances in Chicago.
Bossa Tres Quartet is formed by Dill Costa, Heitor Garcia, John Beard and David Chelimsky.
