The Global Dance Party series offers an exciting opportunity to experiment with dance styles from around the globe. Each evening will feature a dance class followed by two hours of music from live bands or DJs in our Myron R. Szold Music & Dance Hall.
For over the last decade, David Chiriboga, Patricia Ortega, Leticia Aravena and Luis Beltran have been played an integral role in Chicago's Flamenco scene. Besides performing together, they also lead their own solo ensembles and regularly perform and collaborate with Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre which is another main staple in Chicago's Flamenco scene.
This evening will showcase a traditional cuadro Flamenco, featuring the three main elements of Flamenco, the voice, the guitar and the dance, as you would see at a Tablao Flamenco. Besides watching the performance, guests are encouraged to dance Sevillanas, Bulerias and Rumba Flamenca which are some of the forms which will be part of the performance.
