WBEZ Podcast Passport Presents NPR's Embedded with Kelly McEvers

4544 N Lincoln Ave · Gary and Laura Maurer Concert Hall · 773.728.6000

NPR's award winning podcast Embedded comes to Chicago with an interactive, live presentation. Host Kelly McEvers will discuss the death of Jonathan Ferrell, an unarmed black man in Charlotte, shot and killed by a police officer. The presentation puts the audience at the center of the story and shows that videos of these shootings can sometimes complicate cases. Afterwards, she'll host a discussion about the shooting death of Laquan McDonald and how that case will impact future cases.

Kelly will be joined by Joe McMahon, who prosecuted the police officer who shot McDonald, and Jenn White, the host of the WBEZ podcast 16 Shots.

Tickets sold for this event support WBEZ's and NPR's reporting on this important topic. To ensure that cost is not a barrier to taking part in this event, a limited number of free tickets have been set aside to support full community participation. Please reach out to Marquita Wiggins at mwiggins@wbez.org for details.
