Hamza Akram is currently only 26 years of age, but holds within a sea of talent. He was born in Karachi, Pakistan into a family already blessed with the goods and greats of music. If we climb Hamza's family tree, we would come across his ancestors Mian Saamat Bin Ibrahim - the first Qawwal of the Subcontinent and first student of Hazrat Ameer Khusro. Hamza is the 26th generation of the 805 year old ‘Qawwal Bachon ka Delhi Gharana'.

In 2017, Hamza become the first Qawwal since the great Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to compose film music. He composed and produced music for the Pakistani feature film Rangreza. With his firm roots in tradition, he now wants to explore, with respect, the sound of his forefathers in his own way.
