Get ready to rock this summer with Old Town School Summer Camp, an unforgettable adventure for 6 to 11-year old creative kiddos! This summer, we’re turning up the volume on fun, with music, dance, theater, and comedy classes from the largest community school of the arts in the country, located right in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood!

Campers have exposure to everything that makes Old Town School special: amazing facilities, talented faculty, and learning in a fun-filled group environment. Campers also get to be outdoors in nearby Welles Park most days after lunch, plus the camp session ends with a grand finale showcase on stage for friends and family!

Everything you need to know about Summer Camp 2026

Three sessions of Old Town School Summer Camp will be available for kids ages 6-11:

JUNE SESSION

Monday, June 8, 2026 - Friday, June 26, 2026

JULY SESSION

Monday, June 29, 2026 - Friday, July 3, 2026

AUGUST SESSION

Monday, July 27, 2026 – Friday, August 14, 2026

Summer Camp is at the Old Town School of Folk Music Lincoln Square campus. Each session has a maximum capacity of 60 campers.

Old Town School Summer Camp is a true community experience, beginning each day with games, activities, and creative experiences. Campers will then break out for small group classes throughout the day.

Camp runs 9am-3pm. Extended care options before and after scheduled camp hours are available for extra cost. Additional schedule details and extended care pricing coming soon.

Campers will be placed into classes by age and all campers will have a chance to experience the best of Old Town School’s music, dance, and theater group classes.

Closer to your camp start date, campers will have a chance to make more specific choices on which areas they would like to focus on.

Summer Camp Pricing:

$1,075 ($990 for members)
Camp runs for 3-weeks and campers must enroll for the entire session. Payments can be split into installments during checkout.

Sibling discounts are applied to families registering two or more campers. Financial aid is available, click here for more details.

Extended Hours: Early Drop-Off and Late Pickup

Extended hours begin before camp at 7:30am and extend after camp until 5:30pm. Extended Hours are available to purchase at registration or at anytime.

Additional Policy Info:

Full refunds are available until four weeks before the start of each camp session. No refunds will be available after this deadline. Extended Hours fees are non-refundable.

All purchasers must fill out a camper information and help form to provide info for allergies, medications, or other special considerations.

Who can attend the camp?

Children ages 6 to 11.

Where does the camp take place?

At our Lincoln Square campus located at 4545 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Campers will have outdoor time in nearby Welles Park most days after lunch, depending on class schedules and weather.

What is our camp refund policy?

Full refunds will be provided one month before the start of your selected camp session. No refunds will be available after this deadline. Extended Hours fees are non-refundable.

Do we offer a payment plan?

Yes. A monthly payment plan is available during the camp checkout process.

What kind of medical and emergency information do you need for my camper?

All campers will get a camper information & help form to provide information for allergies, and any medications or special considerations. To discuss other specific concerns please email lderosia@oldtownschool.org

Does my child need to bring their own lunch?

Yes. Old Town School Summer camp is a “Bring Your Own Lunch” camp. Bring lunch and a refillable water bottle. Please note, Old Town School Summer Camp is nut-free.

Will my camper be outside at all during camp?

Yes. Campers will have outdoor time in nearby Welles Park most days after lunch, depending on class schedules and weather.

What if I’m going to miss some​​ days of camp?

Please call to let us know as you will be missed. We do not prorate tuition or offer make ups for absences.

Can I enroll for part of the camp?

No. Campers must enroll for the entire duration of the camp.

What ability level is necessary for my child to participate?

Camp is open to all levels and abilities. Teachers will work with campers to make sure they are challenged and have fun.

Do I have to bring an instrument?

All instruments will be provided for campers. This includes guitars, ukuleles, drum and percussion instruments, and supplies for Electronic Music. Instruments are for in camp use only. If you would like to bring an instrument home, you can rent or purchase an instrument through our music store.

What clothing should campers wear at camp and in dance classes?

Campers are encouraged to dress comfortably and appropriately for movement and dance classes: such as joggers or leggings. Bathrooms are available to change.

When is the camp showcase?

TThe end of camp showcases will take place on the last Friday of each camp session. Family and friends are welcome to attend!

What is the camp to counselor ratio?

Campers will be divided into squads of 10. Each squad will be overseen by a camp counselor throughout the day, in addition to a teacher during classes.

Can my camper enroll in a half day of camp?

No. We do not offer half day options.

What should my campers bring to camp?

A lunch, water bottle, string bag or backpack, and sunscreen.

Can I send treats with my camper to share with other campers?

No. We try to be mindful of allergy and dietary restrictions.

Can a caregiver visit during camp?

Yes. Please call ahead to let us know.

What are the drop-off and pick up procedures, times, and location?

Counselors will be ready for campers in front of 4545 N. Lincoln Ave. starting at 8:50 am and will wait with campers in the lobby of 4545 N. Lincoln Ave. until 10 minutes after camp ends.

Can I take more than one session of camp?

Yes, campers are welcome to join any sessions of camp. Classes may not be different between sessions and campers but campers can choose different areas of focus each session.
