This hands-on introduction to flamenco guitar explores the rhythms, harmonies, and techniques that give flamenco its distinctive sound. Led by Madrid-based flamenco guitarist Andrea Salcedo, the workshop introduces the fundamentals of this rich musical tradition through demonstrations, practical exercises, and guided playing.

Participants will explore characteristic flamenco rhythms such as tangos and bulerías, learn about the Andalusian cadence, and practice right-hand techniques such as rasgueado, a distinctive flamenco strumming technique. Along the way, they will gain insight into the cultural and musical traditions that have shaped flamenco guitar. By bringing these elements together, participants will experience how rhythm, harmony, and technique combine to create the unique feel of flamenco music.

This workshop is open to guitarists with a basic knowledge of chords who are interested in expanding their musical vocabulary and exploring a new style. No previous flamenco experience is necessary.
