Intro To Music Theory Through 90’s Alternative Music with Josh Siegel

Have you been interested in music theory but unsure where to start?  In this workshop we will dive into the biggest songs of the 1990's alternative rock era as we master the fundamentals of music theory. Let’s take a closer look at our favorite songs by artists like Nirvana, Radiohead, Weezer, The Cranberries, and many more. Let's see how these great artists crafted their sound by either following the rules or creatively breaking them.

What you will learn:
The musical alphabet, how to build any major scale, how the chords in a song are built out of the major scale, how to change keys (great for accompanying singers), how to learn and memorize songs faster by seeing the music theory basics behind them.

Who you will learn from:
Josh Siegel was trained at the Berklee College of Music. Josh’s relaxed yet focused teaching style draws upon years of experience as an indie rock band leader and Los Angeles session musician. As a writer and composer, Siegel’s music has been featured on NBC, FOX, and AMC.
