These songs from the 1968 White Album use the same finger-picking pattern. While visiting India, John Lennon was taught this pattern by Donovan and it inspired him to compose these songs. We’ll learn the pattern, breaking it down slowly, coaching up the muscle memory needed to keep it repeating. Then we’ll study the chord shapes used up and down the neck for both of the songs independently. The songs can also be played with strumming if desired. This workshop is recommended for intermediate/advanced players. Note “Julia” uses many bar chords. Participants will need a capo.
