This workshop will focus on Neil Young’s approach to the guitar. We’ll spend most of the time on his very rhythmic approach to the acoustic guitar, his use of a pick and his post Maybelle Carter-style of plucking melodies on the bass strings while keeping steady time strumming. We’ll also look at the idea of moving chord shapes and voicings. Song examples will be: Tell Me Why, Old Man, My My Hey Hey, Harvest Moon and others. Tab reading required.
