In this workshop students will get a solid, workable understanding of the building blocks of songs and how each of the parts work together. What is a verse? A refrain? A chorus? A bridge? What is the function of the first verse? The second verse? Understanding form will make your songs better and more effective and will make your writing experience more focused. This workshop is for all levels. Steve Dawson has been teaching songwriting at the Old Town School for 20 years and has released over a dozen albums of original music as a solo artist and with his band, Dolly Varden.
