This workshop will focus on the Zaouli family of rhythms from Cotě d'Ivoire, West Africa. This form of djembe music is very challenging and requires that you are already proficient in movement, memorization and clarity of sound on your djembe. In each workshop, we will be learning different rhythms and techniques of Zaouli taught to your instructor Michael Taylor by Grand Master Drummer Mamady Keïta. Please bring your own djembe.
