Writing from a Felt Sense: The Body as Collaborator

Songwriting, like any other creative act, is a process that involves our whole bodymind (and soul, if you're into that sort of thing). In this workshop, we'll explore a set of tools developed by philosopher/psychologist Eugene Gendlin to facilitate a sort of conversation between our mind and body, and then apply them to songwriting. In doing so, we'll tap into the rich resource that our bodily felt senses offer for generating fresh ideas, metaphors, images, and melodies while really saying what we want to say. No experience required; we will be focusing on lyric writing, so please bring something to write on & with.
