Film Screening of The Murals: The Story of the Uptown Post Office Murals and Sullivan, Sandberg, Poor

Join Filmaker TG Jamroz for a screening of the documentary The Story of The Uptown Post Office Murals and Sullivan, Sandberg, Poor followed by a performance of music from the film with the Pickin’ Bubs, The Platinum Tears, TG Jamroz, and Rick Nitz.

The Murals is the new documentary about the New Deal era Uptown Post Office murals in Chicago. The film explores how and why they were made by Henry Varnum Poor, why they feature Carl Sandburg and Louis Sullivan, and how they inspire today.

The Old Town School shares in the New Deal legacy and also features a mural of its own.

About the Film Maker:

TG Jamroz is a flmmaker / performer who has written and directed many indie films, stage plays, and music videos. Projects have screened at the prestigious Gene Siskel Film Center and around the world. He appeared as an actor in The Dark Knight, and onstage in Chicago. He has written a one-act play being produced in New York City and Chicago. He has directed a six-volume DVD lecture collection by world-famous theologian, James Alison. He has written and produced four albums of original music which can be heard streaming online under the name, The PlatinumTears (including music recorded for this project).
