Mandolins are perfect for playing fiddle tunes. This workshop will teach alternating picking, syncopated picking, hammering on, pulling off, damping and two note combinations to arrange fiddle tunes for mandolin. The tunes will be drawn from multiple fiddle tune traditions (bluegrass, Celtic, North American dance, Latin American), and each tune will provide opportunities for different kinds of ornamentation and rhythmic settings. Accompanying parts will also be introduced.
