Mandolins offer a wealth of textures for accompanying songs. Sing and play your way through old jazz standards, rock covers, stringband staples and pop tunes from many eras. This workshop will teach the chords, rhythms and picking patterns that allow you to cover drum, piano and guitar parts. The songs will include multiple styles, tempos and rhythmic feels, and we will use mandolin chord forms shown in the Old Town School songbook. Information about adjusting the keys of the songs to suit different vocal ranges will also be included.
