Learn to Restring Your Guitar

Being able to change the strings on one’s guitar is an essential skill for any guitarist. Not only will new strings improve the sound and playability of your instrument, but digging in and knowing more about the mechanics of the guitar will lead to more comfort using the guitar as a tool for musical expression.

In this workshop you’ll learn about guitar strings, how to replace them and what tools you’ll need to do the job.

Each attendee will receive a set of strings and a peg winder, courtesy of the Old Town School Music Store, and a copy of Jason’s new ‘zine, How to Restring Your Guitar.

Jason McInnes will lead the workshop. Jason is an award-winning educator and 16-year veteran teacher of the Old Town School of Folk Music. His first job at the School began in 2002 when he got a job working in the Old Town School Music Store. He loves to change his strings and empowering others to do the same.
