Jazz Vocal Style & Techniques Master Class

Adult Group Class

In this workshop students will participate in singing and performing classic jazz standards. Singers will have the opportunity to learn two jazz standards focusing on phrasing, lyrical delivery, swing feel and basic improvisation techniques. Listening and group participation analyzing some of the greatest jazz singers of our time. Advanced students are welcome to bring two songs to workshop.
The workshop will have a master class type setting. Students with previous experience will be asked to perform a standard and workshop the tune with Typhanie. Singers will practice communication skills with accompanist, basic arranging skills, various feels, improvisation-melody and scatting and stage presence performance skills. This workshop is a performance, be prepared to sing and improve your skills!
