In this class, we will learn examples and techniques from musical traditions on both sides of the ocean and open doors to creativity in arranging, adapting, and composing with the guitar. There is a common thread of passion and poetic expression in the techniques developed in the roots music of different cultural areas. By moving along and tying this thread in different ways, we can discover unexplored parts of our creativity. We will learn melodies with different aesthetics and will practice the art of choosing, transforming, and combining different elements.
We will also define and study the chronological topics for working on arrangements and compositions, mentoring students that like to undertake a more creative path.
