Whether you’re recording albums or just writing your first riff, every songwriter returns to the same building blocks to write their next song. In Songwriting: Fundamentals, students grow their understanding of basic harmony, lyric writing, melody, song form, and other tools that are essential to every songwriter. Students only need to be able to play at least three chords on the instrument of their choice (piano, guitar, ukulele, etc.) and will have an opportunity every week to share and hone new material in a supportive environment.
