Yoga for Guitarists

Join Leah Shoshanah, a guitarist, singer, and yoga teacher and student with Moksha Yoga, to learn some warm-ups, cool-downs, and guitarist-focused yoga postures and sequences and talk about the theory behind them. This free with RSVP, two-hour workshop is geared to all levels of yoga practitioners (even if this is your first experience with yoga!) and guitar players.

About the instructor:
Leah Shoshanah is a yoga teacher and musician based in Chicago. She uses yoga, therapuetics, and dance to manage chronic pain from scoliosis and injury. She began teaching yoga in 2011 and she is currently finishing her 200 hr. Yoga teacher training at Moksha Yoga Chicago. For more information, visit www.leahshoshanah.com.

Leah came to yoga as a form of necessity. She was diagnosed with a mild form of scoliosis as a teenager. This caused no problems until a series of accidents in her mid-twenties. In 2011, Leah was bitten by a Rottweiler, fell 9ft. from a tree and thrown from a scooter in Johannesburg rush-hour traffic... all within the span of 6 weeks. Later that year, when Leah began playing guitar professionally, she began to develop chronic pain. Not wanting to give up guitar, Leah turned to movement arts for healing. She began to study Hatha yoga and continued on to Vinyasa, Iyengar, and therapuetic forms, and she also studied Conscious Body Movement at the Chicago Moving Company.

Today, Leah continues to deepen her yoga practice and plays even more guitar around Chicago. Listen to Leah's tunes here: www.leahshoshanah.com.
