This 2 part class is so much more than singing songs about endless summer. It's a unique opportunity to take your ensemble playing and harmony singing skills to a higher level with the music of one of the 20th century's greatest composers and arrangers, Brian Wilson.
We'll spend the first eight weeks getting familiar with the Beach Boys' style by learning some simpler tunes from the days of surf music, and we will also begin learning individual harmony and instrumental parts for the more complex songs.
In the second eight weeks, we will build on our individual harmony and instrumental parts, tighten our arrangements, and prepare for a final performance.
This class is open to all singers who can comfortably hold down a harmony part or read music with some assistance. It is open to all instrumentalists who can learn and play specific parts by ear with some assistance. Please be sure to register for both sessions; because of the nature of the class, a commitment to attendance and at-home practice will be necessary.
