We'll show some of the instruments and explain how they are tuned, played, etc. Then we are going to explain the nature of the music and the modal system in the Persian music and talk about and demonstrate phrasing and other characteristics of the music. At the end we'll distribute some scores so participants can play a song with us. We may go over the song a few times and refer to it as an example of how Persian music works.
