The exciting, highly choreographed Japanese taiko tradition features drummers playing overlaying parts on specific drums. Pick up taiko fundamentals including history of the taiko, gripping the sticks, stance, kata (movements and body positioning), basic timing, and rhythms. Class begins with a physical warm-up followed by a series of drills, which will be put together to create a taiko song.
